Moto2 is the intermediate class of Grand Prix motorcycle racing, serving as the primary feeder series for the premier MotoGP™ World Championship. It is designed to level the playing field, ensuring that rider talent, rather than technical budget, determines the winner.
Moto2 officially launched in 2010, marking a major shift in the Grand Prix motorcycle racing hierarchy. It was introduced to replace the long-standing 250cc two-stroke class, which had been the intermediate category since the world championship began in 1949.
